ID-IRI have published a short communication to provide basic knowledge on the other infectious foci in CNS infections. We have used pneumococcal, brucellar, tuberculous meningitides, and herpetic meningoencephalitis databases of ID-IRI.According to this study, one-fourth of pneumococcal and brucellar meningitis patients, and slightly less than half of tuberculous meningitis patients had another focal involvement out of the CNS. Herpetic meningoencephalitis had only 7% coexistent focal involvement. Hence, the treating clinician should not undervalue the presence of another site of involvement in a CNS infection patient.
