Candida auris Fungemia is now accessible at AAC

We are pleased to announce that the ID-IRI prospective, international Candida auris Fungemia study has been officially published and is now accessible online through the Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy journal. https://journals.asm.org/doi/epub/10.1128/aac.00358-25

This publication represents the termination of nearly two years of intensive research, collaborative effort, and sustained intellectual engagement. The completion of this study would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions and dedication of all participating investigators, institutions, and collaborators.

EXECUTIVE PROFILE I was born in 1969 in Seydişehir, Turkey in 1969. I became a general practitioner after graduation from GATA medical faculty in 1993 and worked as a general practitioner between 1994 and 1996. I have performed my fellowship in GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology in Istanbul during 1996-2000. I worked as infectious diseases specialists in Sivas Hospital during 2000-2003. I became an assistant professor in Gulhane Academy in a 2003, and an associate professor in 2006. I worked as the chief of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department in GATA Haydarpasa Hospital in Istanbul between July 2014 and July 2015. I became a Professor at June 2015. SKILL HIGHLIGHTS Clinical teacher, lecturer An experienced clinician in the field of infectious diseases Experience in ICU infections Experience in community acquired infections Multinational/multicenter clinical research management The founder and lead coordinator of ID-IRI, which is likely to be the largest clinical research platform in the world (https://infectdisiri.wordpress.com/) Experience in scientific activities of European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and other societies Active memberships in ESGIB, ESGITM, ESGCIP PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I worked in the field of infectious diseases and clinical microbiology since 1996 and performed many clinical researches since then. I have founded ID-IRI, an international research platform in 2008. We have performed many multicentric/multinational projects through ID-IRI since then. INTERNATIONAL AWARDS In April 24, 2017, I was awarded with the merit-based “ESCMID Fellow” title by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) executive committee. This title recognizes individuals who have achieved professional excellence and rendered outstanding service to the profession and the society.
