CAPA Paper accepted

The third step of ID-IRI COVID-19-Associated Fungal Infections Stuides COVID Associated Pulmonary Aspergillosis (CAPA) has been accepted for publication in the journal HELIYON. This is an important contribution to the understanding and management of fungal co-infections in COVID-19 patients. Many thanks to the participants and data providers to the study.

In this study the majority of CAPA cases involved Aspergillus fumigatus, and the 90-day mortality rate was over 65%. Older age, hypertension, inotrope use, and renal replacement therapy were identified as independent risk factors for mortality in these patients.
