EXECUTIVE PROFILE I was born in 1969 in Seydişehir, Turkey in 1969. I became a general practitioner after graduation from GATA medical faculty in 1993 and worked as a general practitioner between 1994 and 1996. I have performed my fellowship in GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology in Istanbul during 1996-2000. I worked as infectious diseases specialists in Sivas Hospital during 2000-2003. I became an assistant professor in Gulhane Academy in a 2003, and an associate professor in 2006. I worked as the chief of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department in GATA Haydarpasa Hospital in Istanbul between July 2014 and July 2015. I became a Professor at June 2015. I have founded ID-IRI, an international research platform in 2008. We have performed many multicentric/multinational projects through ID-IRI since then. INTERNATIONAL AWARDS In April 24, 2017, I was awarded with the merit-based “ESCMID Fellow” title by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) executive committee. This title recognizes individuals who have achieved professional excellence and rendered outstanding service to the profession and the society.
